Traffic control / Incident management / Public safety

Clear the road.
Keep it moving.

IntelAerial gives police, DOTs and responders an overhead view of crashes, work zones and event traffic — so lanes close smarter, scenes get documented faster and roads reopen sooner, with fewer secondary crashes and less time spent standing in live traffic.

Every minute closed
costs something.

A closed lane costs commuters, freight and the local economy — and every minute a crash scene stays open raises the risk of a secondary crash and puts responders in harm's way. State DOTs and police agencies across the country are now using drones to close that window.

From Washington State Patrol's crash-scene program to Iowa DOT's Highway Helper drones and Tennessee DOT's tethered drone pilot, the results point the same direction: faster scene documentation, smarter lane decisions and roads that reopen sooner.

The aerial view changes every decision on a traffic incident — where to approach, which lanes to close, how to document the scene and when it is safe to reopen.

01

Detect

An aircraft reaches the incident or backup and gives the traffic management center and responders an overhead view no fixed camera can match — including the rural gaps between camera poles.

OVERHEAD SITUATIONAL AWARENESS

02

Assess

Live video shows severity, lanes blocked, queue length and the fastest route in for fire, EMS and towing — before the first unit commits to an approach.

LIVE VIDEO TO RESPONDERS + TMC

03

Direct

Command uses the aerial picture to decide which lanes to close, where to stage, where to divert traffic and when to set advance warning upstream of the queue.

LANE + DIVERSION DECISIONS

04

Document

The scene is mapped in minutes — a scaled, measurement-ready model for investigators that replaces hours of total-station survey on a closed roadway.

FORENSIC SCENE MAPPING

05

Reopen

With the scene captured and the queue managed, lanes reopen sooner — reducing secondary crashes and the time responders spend exposed to live traffic.

FASTER, SAFER CLEARANCE

Eyes above
the roadway.

Whether it is a fatal crash on the interstate, a lane closure on a paving project or fifty thousand fans leaving a stadium, we put the right aircraft over the problem and the right information in front of the people managing it.

01

Traffic incident management support

Aerial overwatch of crash scenes and major incidents, streaming live video to command, the traffic management center and responding units so clearance decisions are made with the full picture.

TIM / LIVE VIDEO / QUICK CLEARANCE
02

Crash scene mapping + reconstruction

Sub-centimeter photogrammetry, 3D scene models and scaled orthomosaics delivered to investigators — captured in minutes so the roadway can reopen hours sooner.

FORENSIC / 3D MODEL / COURT-READY
03

Work zone monitoring + verification

Aerial checks that work zone layouts, tapers, signage and lane closures are set up as designed, plus queue monitoring that warns crews and drivers before backups become crashes.

WORK ZONES / MUTCD LAYOUT / QUEUE WARNING
04

Event + special event traffic management

Overhead monitoring of ingress, egress, parking and detours for stadiums, festivals, parades and graduations — giving command a live view of where traffic is backing up and why.

EVENTS / INGRESS + EGRESS / DETOURS
05

Tethered persistent overwatch

Tethered aircraft provide hours of continuous coverage over long-duration incidents, evacuations, storm response and major closures — the model state DOTs are now piloting.

TETHERED / PERSISTENT / EVACUATION
06

Traffic studies + corridor data

Aerial video of intersections and corridors converted into vehicle counts, turning movements and queue data for signal timing, safety studies and redesign work — without installing a single sensor.

01

Police + sheriff’s offices

Crash response, scene documentation and traffic control for patrol, traffic units and accident reconstruction teams.

02

State + county DOTs

Incident management, work zone verification and gap coverage between fixed cameras for traffic management centers.

03

Fire + EMS

Approach routes, staging decisions and scene safety on highway incidents before crews commit to the roadway.

04

Cities + municipalities

Event traffic plans, detour monitoring, signal timing studies and corridor safety data for public works and engineering.

05

Contractors + engineering firms

Work zone layout verification, queue monitoring and traffic control plan documentation on active road projects.

06

Venues + event organizers

Ingress and egress monitoring, parking flow and post-event analysis that improves the next traffic plan.

“The fastest way to clear a scene is to see all of it at once.”

Our public safety division is led by Cecil Moses — former Special Agent in Charge of the FBI's Birmingham Division and former Chief of Police of Madison, Alabama. We understand how scenes are commanded, how evidence is preserved and how a crash investigation holds up in court.

FAA Part 107 certified flight crews, operations planned around FAA rules for flights near moving vehicles, and full chain-of-custody documentation on every scene we capture. Our crash reconstruction work has already been admitted as evidence without challenge.
